X-TRA Artists and Rights podcast series

I’m beyond thrilled to be part of the podcast series, Artists and Rights, produced by X-TRA, the Los Angeles-based contemporary art journal. X-TRA invited 4 groups of LA artists to have a series of discussions on the most pressing issues facing artists and society. In episode 7, Becoming Visible, Being a Thorn, and Seeking Justice, I talk about where my art practice and design thinking intersect, and the artist’s role of being a thorn in the side of people and institutions of power. In episode 8, Committing to Showing Up and Shifting Frameworks, I share my experience growing up Asian American in suburban Philly feeling hyper-visible and how moving to California changed that, and the role of the artist to counteract deficiencies in the world.

I encourage you to listen to the whole series. Each each episode is full of insight and inspiration from artists whom I respect deeply.
